2026 marks the 100th Anniversary since local author A.A. Milne released his first Winnie the Pooh storybook. The much loved collection of stories followed Christopher Robin, Pooh Bear and their friends on adventures around the 'Hundred Aker Wood'. The forest in the books was inspired by the Ashdown Forest - our home. To celebrate the occasion we are delighted to announce a collection of inspired menus, events and packages, working in collaboration with Pooh Corner Cafe and the Ashdown Forest Foundation, to bring the Hundred Aker experience to guests.

From Sunday 18th January, our afternoon tea menu takes inspiration from Pooh Bear’s favourite indulgence: 'hunny'. Expect delicate, honey-laced treats, paired with timeless afternoon tea classics. Nostalgic, charming and just a little bit playful, the Hunny Pot Afternoon Tea invites guests of all ages to slow down, savour the moment, and enjoy a taste of childhood magic in an unforgettable setting.

Monday Dining Club: Discovering the Unknown World of A.A. Milne
This March, we welcome Neil, the owner of Pooh Corner Cafe in Hartfield, to our Monday Dining Club. Neil brings a unique insight into the inspirations in A.A. Milne's life as well as stories of his and Christopher's life.
