We're delighted to introduce two new walking routes around the Ashdown Park Hotel Estate, known as The Hundred Aker Trail.

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of A.A. Milne's storybook characters with a wander through the trees, where you might just spot some familiar little houses hidden along the way.

Perfect for families, couples, and nature lovers alike, The Hundred Aker Trail offers a unique way to explore the stunning Ashdown Forest landscape while immersing yourself in the magic of a timeless tale. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely stroll, capturing memorable moments, or simply reconnecting with nature, this experience is designed to delight visitors of all ages.

Before you set off...

Who can take part in the trail?

We encourage everybody to do the trail. It is particularly ideal for families, but suitable for all ages. Dogs are welcome, and cyclists can enjoy the red route. You do not have to be a resident of the hotel.

Is there a map to follow?

Yes, please ask at reception for a physical copy of the trail map, or download it from the pdf at the top of this page.

Is this a free activity in East Sussex?

Absolutely! There is no cost to enjoy our trail.

What should we bring?

We recommend sturdy shoes or wellies, especially after wet weather, as the routes can get boggy underfoot. The only other thing you need is your sense of adventure!

How long does the walk take?

Everybody walks at different speeds, but we would suggest allowing 40 minutes for the red route or 1.5 hours for the blue route.

Can we take photos?

Absolutely! We love to see your photos from your adventure. Don't forget to tag us on social media!
