What a fantastic last coffee morning of 2018 we had!
We welcomed our Executive Head Chef, Andrew Wilson, to share his expert tips for Christmas delights and inside information about how he and his team feed several hundred people over the Christmas period at Ashdown Park.
Our December Charity Coffee Morning is also one of Chef's favourite days in December, as he gets to sample other people's cooking (and many of his favourite festive treats), with our MINCE PIE BAKE OFF!
This year there was a strong competition, with amazing homemade mince pies that were each unique. It's interesting seeing just how different individual's take on a classic can turn out so differently in texture and flavours; some with a little more tipple, other's more citrusy.
The winner of our Mince Pie Bake Off 2018 was a citrus delight - packed with flavour (Chef even took a couple home with him).
We gave a prize to the 1st and 2nd placed mince pie bakers although we would have loved to give a prize to everyone as they were all very, very, delicious!
THANK YOU, once again to everyone who has helped support Chestnut Tree House Children's Trust. Since we started supporting this amazing charity in February 2017, following on from the Sussex Air Ambulance, you have helped to raise £1916.90!
