There was some scepticism when we decided to hold our first ever evening Wedding Showcase. Would couples want to venture out on a Friday evening to look at all things wedding related when they could be at home, with a glass of wine after a hard week at work?
We needn't have worried! The evening was a great success with a steady flow of happy and excited couples quite happy to forego their Friday night tipple to join us and our recommended suppliers. We had a great range of suppliers exhibiting, from photographers, suit hire, floral designers and cake designers to creative stationary suppliers, musical entertainment, chair covers and wedding gown designers. In the space of three hours you could almost have planned your wedding from beginning to end!
Our knowledgeable Event Co-ordinators were on hand to show couples how luxurious and memorable their wedding could be at Ashdown Park. Rooms were laid out ready, as though a wedding couple were about to make their vows before sitting down to a sumptuous wedding feast. Holding this in the evening meant couples could also see how magical the Hotel looked in candlelight, and particularly spectacular were the long, sweeping corridors through the East Wing of the Hotel, solely lit by flickering candlelight.
Many couples left having new ideas, gaining new contacts and confident they were further along with their wedding plans than when they arrived. The feedback from suppliers was incredibly positive too, with many wanting to book straight away for the next one!
