From humble beginnings...

I started working at Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club in early 2014 as a casual Concierge and Conference & Banqueting Waiter. In June of that year a new opportunity arose at the hotel and, after careful consideration, I decided to take my career on a different path and applied for the position of Apprentice Accountant. I was extremely pleased when I got the job!

In July 2014 I started work in the Accounts office, with hands-on training; I then started at Horsham Training Centre, studying AAT Level 2 in the September. AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and professional body for vocational accountants. Over the academic year I was thrilled to pass all five exams and qualify as an AAT Level 2 student!

In September 2015 I started my AAT Level 3 course and have just have passed my exam in Costings and Revenue. Looking forward, I will continue onto AAT Level 4, at the end of which my Apprenticeship will come to an end (July 2017) as I'll be qualified as a 'Master of the Association of Accounts Technicans' (MAAT).

I'm hoping that I'll then be able to use my qualification to further progress my career and am extremely grateful to Ashdown Park for giving me this fantastic opportunity.
