Women looking to take up a new outdoor activity with friends this autumn are being welcomed to sign up to a brand new experience taking place at Ashdown Park Hotel.

Love.golf is a fun, relaxed, social coaching programme that promises an ‘unexpected’ golf experience. It has been specially developed for women with a unique approach focused on enjoying playing the game as a group rather than simply hitting balls on a practice range.

According to PGA Golf Professional James Morrow, Love.golf is "helping to transform the game’s outdated image and welcome a new generation of female golfers who may not have considered trying golf before".

James said: “The great thing about Love.golf is that it is a fun, social experience that a group of girls enjoy together".

The all-inclusive programme includes six weekly sessions with James on the Ashdown Park Hotel par 3 course . “All the equipment and balls are provided, you can wear jeans and trainers and you don’t have to be a club member or even have played before. It’s relaxed, welcoming and probably not at all what you think golf is like.”  The group is also encouraged to meet socially for tea, coffee and refreshments before or after sessions.

Love.golf is being launched on the back of an academic study at the University of Birmingham looking at how sport is taught to women and follows a nationwide research report that found more than 640,000 women said they would be ‘very interested’ in taking up golf this year.

The start date of the initial course will be Wednesday 28th October at 10.00am with sessions then running at the same time each week for 6 consecutive weeks.
