Ashdown Park Shines For Second Year In Diamond Awards

A year after being named as The Place to Meet in the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards, Ashdown Park is in the running for another prize in the 2010 awards.

The country house hotel at Wych Cross, near Forest Row, is one of three finalists in the Leisure Destination Award category, which attracted entrants from throughout Sussex and Surrey.

The winner will be announced at a sell-out gala dinner taking place at the Hilton Hotel London Gatwick on March 11th, when Nick Hewer from the BBC’s Apprentice will present the awards.

Judges from Cadia, the Gatwick Diamond Business Association, recently visited the 106-room hotel set in 186 acres of grounds at Wych Cross, near Forest Row. The judges were shown the hotel’s atmospheric public areas, award-winning Anderida Restaurant and Country Club where facilities include a gym, indoor pool, beauty salon and par 3 18-hole golf course.

Ashdown Park General Manager, Ben Booker, said: “We pride ourselves on the range of leisure facilities we offer and the various packages available. It was a real honour to be named The Place to Meet within the Gatwick Diamond last year and we were thrilled to hear we have been shortlisted in another category for 2010.”

CADIA Chief Executive Jeremy Taylor said: “The Gatwick Diamond sub-region is a key economic area, not just for the South East, but for the whole country. The quality of entrants has been very high this year and the winners will be those businesses or people who have shown innovation and inspiration in their work, and have demonstrated a real commitment to the sub-region.”
